Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is the most common form of dementia characterized by cognitive impairment decline with disease progression. Various non-pharmacological interventions have been used to delay cognitive deficits and minimize functional impairment. Transcranial electrical stimulation is a non-invasive brain stimulation technique that comprises several different methods including transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS), alternating current stimulation, and random noise stimulation. tDCS is a one of these interventions which is a low cost, safe method capable of modulating cortical activity and inducing neuroplasticity mechanism. We report a patient with AD that showed neurocognitive improvement after intervention of tDCS for 6 months.
